Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Phillipe Van Hoyveldt got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Oliver Kempeneers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brugse Boeren's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver Kempeneers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Sterckmans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brugse Boeren's Denis Haentjens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden in the 14th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, one of DrughiGenk:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for DrughiGenk. The goalkeeper, Arne Sterckmans, was totally fooled by Brugse Boeren's Oliver Kempeneers, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Lode Ottevaere was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 39 minutes into the match. Jullian Hoes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden in the 42nd minute of play forced Brugse Boeren's goalkeeper Denis Haentjens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save DrughiGenk from getting a goal against them. After 45 minutes, Jullian Hoes made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Brugse Boeren's Denis Haentjens tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Brugse Boeren's Denis Haentjens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Brugse Boeren from getting a goal against them. Denis Haentjens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Brugse Boeren's goalkeeper Denis Haentjens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilian da Mata. 57 minutes into the match, Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Brugse Boeren's Denis Haentjens. Denis Haentjens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arne Sterckmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanniek Swin in the 63rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Yanniek Swin put it in 3-4 from a short distance just to the right of Arne Sterckmans. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Van Hoeyvelt in the 75th minute of play. If Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Van Hoeyvelt struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Arne Sterckmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brugse Boeren. 81 minutes into the match, Yanniek Swin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arne Sterckmans. DrughiGenk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yanniek Swin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yanniek Swin in the 84th minute of play forced DrughiGenk's goalkeeper Arne Sterckmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Wayne Pelegrims hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rafael Van Hoeyvelt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Brugse Boeren's goal looked a bit too open when Wilian da Mata came free, but Denis Haentjens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 minutes of play, DrughiGenk's Marnix Van Turnhout made it 4-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denis Haentjens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Denis Haentjens made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. DrughiGenk walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
