Yanne Van den Berch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niki De Maret in the 5th minute of the match. If Claus Machiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Niki De Maret had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Zwart Kaarsvet FC's Tony Coosemans got control of the ball when Claus Machiels tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th minute, Karl Gijselinkx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Niki De Maret's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yanne Van den Berch was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Rectum Royale defense, Giles De Custer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yanne Van den Berch. The Rectum Royale fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yanne Van den Berch should have stopped the shot. Bernard Van der Perren hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Giles De Custer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanne Van den Berch was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Giles De Custer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yanne Van den Berch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Olof Bergstedt in the 45th minute of play. Giles De Custer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanne Van den Berch having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Niki De Maret made the kick off in the second half. When Zwart Kaarsvet FC's Niki De Maret in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rectum Royale's goalie prevented a goal. 61 minutes into the match, Niki De Maret had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yanne Van den Berch. Rectum Royale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niki De Maret was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After a rather tough play, Zwart Kaarsvet FC's Seppe Decoster got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Ernest Hendricks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giles De Custer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yanne Van den Berch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rectum Royale's zone, Niki De Maret stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yanne Van den Berch came out of the goal and Niki De Maret tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Karl Gijselinkx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Bernard Van der Perren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Zwart Kaarsvet FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claus Machiels came free, but Tony Coosemans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yanne Van den Berch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giles De Custer, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Yanne Van den Berch was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Niki De Maret showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 94 minute of play. When the match was over Zwart Kaarsvet FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rectum Royale throughout the match.
