Johannes Weijnandts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Dhollander in the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Ctibor Závada left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Brugge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience was convinced that Gertjan Daems's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johannes Weijnandts was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Arnout Marant kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Gertjan Daems received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Johannes Weijnandts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Brugge fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Club Brugge:s Eric De Ryck showed great skill when he stopped Mathieu Wauters:s penalty. Club Brugge's Eric De Ryck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Club Brugge from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Ctibor Závada's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johannes Weijnandts was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Ctibor Závada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Johannes Weijnandts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johannes Weijnandts was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ctibor Závada made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rocky Roelandts to maneuver through the defense. Johannes Weijnandts acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 51st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Sergio Geldhof. After a rather tough play, Club Brugge's Bruno De Clerk got a free kick in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Club Brugge's Ctibor Závada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johannes Weijnandts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. A collision led to Club Brugge getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. William Dhollander hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Mathieu Wauters managed to get in a good position for a shot. Suikerklontjes's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathieu Wauters was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric De Ryck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ryan Kempenaerts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric De Ryck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute Ctibor Závada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Weijnandts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ctibor Závada got in the 76th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Johannes Weijnandts handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Yoachim Hauwaerts hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Club Brugge's Sergio Geldhof in action when he in the 80th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! An unexpectedly hard shot by Ctibor Závada in the 82nd minute of play forced Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Johannes Weijnandts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Brugge's Eric De Ryck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Kempenaerts in the 86th minute of play. Sergio Geldhof recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute Arnout Marant shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric De Ryck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Brugge's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
