Spectators: 8052 (Terracing: 6040, Seating: 1852, VIP seats: 160) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Andris Verheijt kicked off to start the match. Conrad Kerckmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Guillaume Huygens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 5 played minutes K. Beerschot VA got a freekick which was hit by Timmy Kempenaerts. When KV Wanzele's Michel Verheijd in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye K. Beerschot VA's goalie prevented a goal. Michel Verheijd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillaume Huygens having to interfere. Oswald Van Caels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guillaume Huygens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrad Kerckmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The supporters of KV Wanzele booed when K. Beerschot VA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lieven Walters didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Michel Verheijd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Wanzele fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 35th minute, Michel Verheijd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guillaume Huygens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Oswald Van Caels made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, K. Beerschot VA's goal looked a bit too open when Oswald Van Caels came free, but Guillaume Huygens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, KV Wanzele's Oswald Van Caels ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Guillaume Huygens. Guillaume Huygens yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Raf Haentjens kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, K. Beerschot VA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Michel Verheijd fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. K. Beerschot VA's Guillaume Huygens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oswald Van Caels in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Oswald Van Caels fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Guillaume Huygens, passed just outside the right post. Guillaume Huygens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswald Van Caels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michel Verheijds short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Guillaume Huygens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. K. Beerschot VA's Guillaume Huygens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save K. Beerschot VA from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, K. Beerschot VA's Guillaume Huygens got control of the ball when Michel Verheijd tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of KV Wanzele booed when K. Beerschot VA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timmy Kempenaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 90 played minutes, KV Wanzele's Raf Haentjens shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Guillaume Huygens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KV Wanzele reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Verheijd got free with Guillaume Huygens in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Michel Verheijd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Guillaume Huygens made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KV Wanzele walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
