That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. With a little luck, K. Beerschot VA's Guillaume Huygens got control of the ball when Hans Van den Gans tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guillaume Huygens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias De Meyer in the 14th minute of play. K. Beerschot VA got a freekick which was hit by Lieven Walters. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lieven Walters during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Brent-Jan Robijns managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beerschot VA's protests and gave Timothy Geest a yellow card for diving instead. Timothy Geest hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th match minute, K. Beerschot VA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lieven Walters to maneuver through the defense.
