Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oswald Van Caels received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mathieu Verdeyen came out and tried to block the shot, but Oswald Van Caels slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. 14 minutes in the game Herbert Bernaerts did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Michel Verheijd. 15 minutes into the game, Conrad Kerckmans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KV Wanzele's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kerkbrugge the free kick. The supporters of Kerkbrugge booed when KV Wanzele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrad Kerckmans didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, KV Wanzele's goal looked a bit too open when David Wuets came free, but Bob Boegaert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Diego Vermeesch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bob Boegaert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Vermeesch's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Mathieu Verdeyen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michel Verheijd in the 23rd minute. KV Wanzele's Bob Boegaert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Vermeesch in the 25th minute of play. If Douglas Vranken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Conrad Kerckmans kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mathieu Verdeyen. That made the score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. The audience was convinced that David Wuets's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bob Boegaert was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 36 minutes into the match, Kerkbrugge's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Rix came free, but Mathieu Verdeyen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Willem Vandommele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bob Boegaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, KV Wanzele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Rogiers to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Kerkbrugge defense, Michel Verheijd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mathieu Verdeyen. The Kerkbrugge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mathieu Verdeyen should have stopped the shot. David Wuets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Bob Boegaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Oswald Van Caels made the kick off in the second half. Stein Van de cauter hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Kerkbrugge's zone, Raf Haentjens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathieu Verdeyen came out of the goal and Raf Haentjens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswald Van Caels in the 54th minute of play forced Kerkbrugge's goalkeeper Mathieu Verdeyen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mathieu Verdeyen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Verheijd in the 55th minute of the match. Mathieu Verdeyen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswald Van Caels in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Oswald Van Caels managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Wanzele's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswald Van Caels was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathieu Verdeyen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Stephen Hemelaer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute, Bart-Jan Theuniers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kerkbrugge's Diego Vermeesch got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64thth minute of the game David Wuets who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KV Wanzele's Bob Boegaert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mathieu Verdeyen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrad Kerckmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Wuets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Bob Boegaert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KV Wanzele's players were relieved. 77 minutes into the match, Kerkbrugge's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Verheijd came free, but Mathieu Verdeyen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Wuets charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Wuets the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute, David Wuets hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conrad Kerckmans succeeded in the game's 84th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. Mathieu Verdeyen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Verheijd in the 88th minute of the match. Oswald Van Caels scored 5-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mathieu Verdeyen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mathieu Verdeyen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Conrad Kerckmans went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The KV Wanzele fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kerkbrugge had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
