The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommi De Bruyn got free with Diego Verelst in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute of the game, Wouter Oelaerts landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Jochen Goegebeur hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Tommi De Bruyn struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Diego Verelst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Kroeters. In the 37th minute, Alex Sproten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claude Renotte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Goegebeur in the 43rd minute of play. Gerrit Peers charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerrit Peers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC Kroeters made a substitution. Bill Kant replaced Sebbe Conincx. The supporters of FC Kroeters booed when DOVO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerrit Peers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Verelst made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Sproten in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Sproten to make the kick off. The supporters of FC Kroeters booed when DOVO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Gramet didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute Alex Sproten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Verelst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC Kroeters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Diego Verelst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Jochen Goegebeur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Sproten took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diego Verelst. Diego Verelst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The audience was convinced that Tommi De Bruyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Verelst was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. DOVO's Diego Verelst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Sproten in the 89th minute of play. Tommi De Bruyn scored 5-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diego Verelst, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Kroeters fully deserved thier win.
