With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diego Verelst prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diego Verelst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remy Bekaert, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After a defensive mix-up in DOVO's zone, Remy Bekaert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Verelst came out of the goal and Remy Bekaert tried to chip the ball over his head. The supporters of De Rudies booed when DOVO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martijn Schoolmeesters didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Marten Scheerens shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Verelst showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 46th minute, Gabriel Stocks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marten Scheerens, 47 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The DOVO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. De Rudies were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Keldermans to strike the kick off in the second half. Diego Verelst didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Remy Bekaert went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Diego Verelst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Keldermans in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 68th minute Carlos Keldermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Verelst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Izak Louis in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benny Wiggers saved De Rudies from getting behind. Mark Meulemans kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Benny Wiggers came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by DOVO's Izak Louis. But to his dismay, Izak Louis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Remy Bekaert struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Diego Verelst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Rudies. In the 77th minute of the game, Remy Bekaert landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Gerrit Peers charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerrit Peers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carlos Keldermans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Verelst having to interfere. When Luuk Justens came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the De Rudies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luuk Justens couldn't finish the play. Ruud Van Den Eijnde recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Keldermans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Diego Verelst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Armand Denturck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of De Rudies booed when DOVO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Stocks didn't get a good kick on the ball. De Rudies played a much better game than DOVO and deserved their victory. The DOVO players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
