In the 3rd match minute, Fighters Against Cancer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Pineurs to maneuver through the defense. Sven Wollans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven having to interfere. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Waterhoek's Mike Kustermans. But to his dismay, Mike Kustermans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Thobias Gijsbrechts kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Dave Rockloos, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Vic Sevenans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Levi Weijnants kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Mike Kustermans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. If Oswald Rymenans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertrand Leemans succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 26th playminute. In the 29th minute, Stanny Tkint hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Oswald Rymenans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Kustermans in the 31st minute of play. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel De Haes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Waterhoek's Mike Kustermans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. When Christofere Vandommele fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fighters Against Cancer's protests and gave Christofere Vandommele a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Fighters Against Cancer got a freekick which was hit by Christofere Vandommele. In the 46th minute, Samuel De Haes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Stanny Tkint managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fighters Against Cancer's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanny Tkint was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Elsens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oswald Rymenans to strike the kick off in the second half. Waterhoek's Oswald Rymenans got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mike Kustermans's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven firmly grabbed it by the left post. Oswald Rymenans in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 57 minutes into the match, Waterhoek's goal looked a bit too open when Willem Verheijden came free, but Daniel Elsens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Kustermans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute Mike Kustermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Fighters Against Cancer defense, Oswald Rymenans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven. The Fighters Against Cancer fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven should have stopped the shot. A hard shot by Dylan Van den Broeck from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Willem Verheijden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Fighters Against Cancer's Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven got control of the ball when Oswald Rymenans tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Mike Kustermans reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven. The goal made the score 1-6. Oswald Rymenanss short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 91st minute, Oswald Rymenans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel De Haes in the 93rd minute. Oswald Rymenans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a huge save. Waterhoek's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
