When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henri Van Wontergem made a kick off. Fc Brujas's Marek Michna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Verbeeck in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Fc Brujas's Henri Van Wontergem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Laurent Schoenmakers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Henri Van Wontergem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Brujas's supporters rose to their feet, but Henri Van Wontergem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert De Cerpel in the 86th minute of play forced Fc Brujas's goalkeeper Marek Michna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
