Sven Petris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henri Van Wontergem, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Fc Brujas's Joonatan Robin got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Augustijn De Geyter recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marek Michna. Augustijn De Geyter showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ief Provoost in the 25th minute of play forced Fc Brujas's goalkeeper Marek Michna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 51st minute, Lords Of Dogtown's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Henri Van Wontergem fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 64th minute of the match, Henri Van Wontergem got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sven Petris was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 65 minutes into the game, Fc Brujas's Henri Van Wontergem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sven Petris made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 68th minute, Edgard Van de cauter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fc Brujas's Marek Michna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ief Provoost in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henri Van Wontergem got free with Sven Petris in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 84 played minutes Fc Brujas got a freekick which was hit by Emiel Roockeloos. After 86 played minutes Fc Brujas got a freekick which was hit by Carel Jonckers. Henri Van Wontergem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Petris having to interfere. When Matt De Messemaekere fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Brujas's protests and gave Matt De Messemaekere a yellow card for diving instead. Matt De Messemaekere hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Lords Of Dogtown manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Fc Brujas to win.
