Ivan Roulin's late challenge caught a Zandvoorde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell George Vereect to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Van Meerbek in the 52nd minute of play forced Zandvoorde's goalkeeper Harrie Smidts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Willem-Alexander Van Der Meeren threw the ball into play from the sideline. Zandvoorde's Philippe Francx quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Cesar Vincx hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Winksele's Jacq Jonckheere ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Harrie Smidts. The referee showed Mickael Omblets the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mickael Omblets kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Harrie Smidts made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Mickael Omblets sent off a good shot on target. After 69 played minutes Zandvoorde got a freekick which was hit by Frederic Polspoel. Harrie Smidts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Van Meerbek, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 78 minutes, Serge Roosendael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Winksele and the Zandvoorde players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th match minute, Winksele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serge Roosendael to maneuver through the defense. Binjamin De Greef blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernd Gielis having to make a save. Zandvoorde's attentive Charles-Antoine Andries managed to snatch the ball when Senne Camps made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. When the final whistle went the supporters of Winksele were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Zandvoorde side.
