The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Dalmore:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Luys:s goal. The goalkeeper, Joseph De Coster, was totally fooled by FC Luys's Bernd Smolders, who 4 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With a little luck, Dalmore's Joseph De Coster got control of the ball when George Haentjens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luka Vincx charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luka Vincx the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes FC Luys got a freekick which was hit by Luka Vincx. If Harrie De Metser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerard Dierickx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henri-Xavier Sielis in the 20th minute of the match. Joseph De Coster came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Luys's Wilfried Meersman. But to his dismay, Wilfried Meersman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Dalmore's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Wilfried Meersman scored to the left of an out of position Joseph De Coster, making the score, 3-0. Gerard Dierickx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henri-Xavier Sielis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswald Clijsters in the 33rd minute of play forced Dalmore's goalkeeper Joseph De Coster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 played minutes FC Luys got a freekick which was hit by Oswald Clijsters. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dimitri Huvenaerts during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute, Dimitri Huvenaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dimitri Huvenaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 48 minutes into the match, Henri-Xavier Sielis notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of FC Luys's Gerard Dierickx. Gerard Dierickx was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oswald Clijsters to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Dalmore's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfried Meersman came free, but Joseph De Coster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Gerard Dierickx successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dalmore's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tibaut Labrouche in the 58th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Luys's goalie and right to Harrie De Metser. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Luys's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 61 minutes into the match, FC Luys's goal looked a bit too open when Harrie De Metser came free, but Gerard Dierickx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henri-Xavier Sielis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerard Dierickx having to interfere. A collision led to Dalmore getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Tibaut Labrouche hit a great ball. Cederik Koppen charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cederik Koppen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Dalmore booed when FC Luys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cederik Koppen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oswald Clijsters hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Dalmore were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after FC Luys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tibaut Labrouche took the corner. The corner ended in Tibaut Labrouche almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Luys's Gerard Dierickx did a great save. In the 84th minute, George Haentjens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Oswald Clijsters left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Luys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After 96 minutes, Harrie De Metser mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dalmore and the FC Luys players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Luys booed when Dalmore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harrie De Metser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmore's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
