The audience thought a goal was coming when Greg De Wulf got free with Dany Vermeulen in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, KFC Melkwezer's Renzo van Hacht got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute of the match Ewout Dobbeleir sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dany Vermeulen skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Greg De Wulf got free with Dany Vermeulen in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dany Vermeulen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dany Vermeulen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Vissenaeken in the 12th minute of play. GoeBezig Vilvoorde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ewout Dobbeleir in the 15th minute. The corner ended in Ewout Dobbeleir almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but KFC Melkwezer's Dany Vermeulen did a great save. Florian Humblets's late challenge caught a KFC Melkwezer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florian Humblets helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, GoeBezig Vilvoorde's Florian Humblets got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Sergio Vissenaeken struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Dany Vermeulen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GoeBezig Vilvoorde. When GoeBezig Vilvoorde's Greg De Wulf in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sergio Vissenaeken might have been able to make a better finish in the 49th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dany Vermeulen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sergio Vissenaeken ran back to his position shaking his head. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mats Verbeeck to strike the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Greg De Wulf cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dany Vermeulen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Quentin De Keyser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Verbeeck, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Melkwezer's zone, Greg De Wulf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dany Vermeulen came out of the goal and Greg De Wulf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 76 played minutes KFC Melkwezer got a freekick which was hit by Bryan Schouters. Dany Vermeulen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greg De Wulf, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When Greg De Wulf came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the GoeBezig Vilvoorde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Greg De Wulf couldn't finish the play. When GoeBezig Vilvoorde's Sergio Vissenaeken in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the KFC Melkwezer defense, Greg De Wulf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dany Vermeulen. The KFC Melkwezer fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dany Vermeulen should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. GoeBezig Vilvoorde had played much better football throughout.
