Rapid Mollem's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Mathieu-Maxim Van Goethem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Frederik Van Geel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, New York Giants was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasper Pastijns to maneuver through the defense. Guillaume Schepens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Verheyden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mathieu-Maxim Van Goethem recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rapid Mollem's Mathieu-Maxim Van Goethem in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye New York Giants's goalie prevented a goal. Mathieu-Maxim Van Goethem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederik Van Geel having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Lenny De Greef was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rapid Mollem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New York Giants the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rapid Mollem's Lenny De Greef got a free kick in the 27th minute. New York Giants's Frederik Van Geel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save New York Giants from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the match, New York Giants's Arnout Henderickx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guillaume Schepens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Miguel Verheyden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New York Giants fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Klaus Bossuyt struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Frederik Van Geel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapid Mollem. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 56th minute, Arnout Henderickx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 60 minutes, Miguel Verheyden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New York Giants's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Verheyden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaus Bossuyt in the 64th minute of play forced New York Giants's goalkeeper Frederik Van Geel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute of the match Rapid Mollem got a corner. New York Giants's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Thijs Samyn ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Thijs Samyn almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but New York Giants's Frederik Van Geel did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Rapid Mollem's zone, Miguel Verheyden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillaume Schepens came out of the goal and Miguel Verheyden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thijs Samyn hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rapid Mollem fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! After 79 minutes of play, Rapid Mollem's Mathieu-Maxim Van Goethem made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frederik Van Geel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Philippe Creemers charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philippe Creemers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rapid Mollem booed when New York Giants was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philippe Creemers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederik Van Geel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathieu-Maxim Van Goethem in the 90th minute of play. After 99 minutes of play, Rapid Mollem's Lander Buyck made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frederik Van Geel was left in no man's land by his defense there!
