A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind KVSK Yvoir's goalkeeper Jacob Vandeput, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to KVSK Yvoir getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Marnix Wans hit a great ball. After 18 minutes of play, SC Montzen's Gust Rombouts made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacob Vandeput was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thomas Neef hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With a little luck, SC Montzen's Antonio Vermeulen got control of the ball when Christof Van Dock tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Marnix Wans managed to get in a good position for a shot. KVSK Yvoir's supporters rose to their feet, but Marnix Wans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Vermeulen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Christof Van Dock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob Vandeput made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Heirremans in the 32nd minute of play. After 32 minutes, Rein Van de Weijer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KVSK Yvoir and the SC Montzen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rein Van de Weijer hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The SC Montzen fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when SC Montzen's Christiaan Walder looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 47 minutes into the game, Gust Rombouts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Montzen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KVSK Yvoir the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Christiaan Walder ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacob Vandeput was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The audience was convinced that Christiaan Walder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacob Vandeput was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After 60 minutes, Christof Van Dock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KVSK Yvoir and the SC Montzen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, KVSK Yvoir's Christof Van Dock got a free kick in the 60th minute. Matthias van Haecht fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Vermeulen having to interfere. Frederick De Vleeschauwer hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Christof Van Dock made a precise shot to the right of Antonio Vermeulen. SC Montzen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Christiaan Walder took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Jacob Vandeput to make any attempt to save it. Christof Van Dock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. KVSK Yvoir's Marnix Wans got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Christof Van Dock came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the KVSK Yvoir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christof Van Dock couldn't finish the play. Boris Simons charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boris Simons the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of SC Montzen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of KVSK Yvoir:s goal. Ivan De Vriendt placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Marnix Wans scored 2-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Vermeulen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Montzen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
