With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joop Eggers in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rens Van Damme saved Chelsea from getting behind. In the 45th minute of the match, Joop Eggers tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rens Van Damme saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 48th minute Philip van Hagenborgh suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Thomas Gyselincx's late challenge caught a Chelsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea's zone, Joop Eggers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rens Van Damme came out of the goal and Joop Eggers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. schoten's Jorne Sulem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save schoten from getting a goal against them. Joop Eggers scored 3-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rens Van Damme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Richy Van Bettenrode fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rens Van Damme having to interfere.
