In the 7th minute, Patrik Bernaers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geordy Verelst in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benny Devos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC The Smokers's Benny Devos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geordy Verelst in the 12th minute of play. Gerrit Philippaerts took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Cox. Ivan Cox dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Jacq Calewaerts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Cox showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kobe Tilens in the 20th minute of the match. Tristan Mangelschot hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute of the match Jacq Calewaerts sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Cox skillfully saved the ball. After 24 played minutes V.D.B. Foundation got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Dujardin. Ivan Cox made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerrit Philippaerts in the 25th minute. The supporters of FC The Smokers booed when V.D.B. Foundation was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Dujardin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benny Devos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geordy Verelst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Foundation getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Tristan Mangelschot hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kobe Tilens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ivan Cox came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by FC The Smokers's Gerrit Philippaerts. But to his dismay, Gerrit Philippaerts quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to V.D.B. Foundation getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Tibaut Elssen hit a great ball. In the 61st minute of the match Brecht Dewolf shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Cox showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 62nd minute, Lennart Dujardin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 played minutes V.D.B. Foundation got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Dujardin. After 65 played minutes FC The Smokers got a freekick which was hit by Tom Keuppens. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacq Calewaerts in the 77th minute of play forced V.D.B. Foundation's goalkeeper Ivan Cox to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Cox showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kobe Tilens, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Patrik Bernaers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. V.D.B. Foundation's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrik Bernaers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Davy Aerts kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kobe Tilens in the 90th minute of play forced V.D.B. Foundation's goalkeeper Ivan Cox to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Geordy Verelst came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the V.D.B. Foundation fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geordy Verelst couldn't finish the play. Many of V.D.B. Foundation's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. V.D.B. Foundation may have spent more time on the ball, but FC The Smokers were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
