After 16 minutes, Hamdi Abdul Qadir made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Helchteren's Bryan Roekeloos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute, Hamdi Abdul Qadir made a precise shot to the right of Bryan Roekeloos. Helchteren's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Hamdi Abdul Qadir struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Bryan Roekeloos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Guust Van Linthoud hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 30 minutes in the game, Yanick De Winter dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Bryan Roekeloos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanick De Winter in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Yanick De Winter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryan Roekeloos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yanick De Winter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carel de Pelsmakere might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bryan Roekeloos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carel de Pelsmakere ran back to his position shaking his head. 45 minutes into the match, Helchteren's goal looked a bit too open when Yanick De Winter came free, but Bryan Roekeloos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hamdi Abdul Qadir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Yanick De Winter came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Club Brugge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yanick De Winter couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when Helchteren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan Roekeloos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Guust Van Linthoud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thommy Toeback made a great header on Club Brugge's corner, it was just that Helchteren's Bryan Roekeloos managed to reach the ball for a save. With his leg Bryan Roekeloos managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Club Brugge's Hamdi Abdul Qadir fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bryan Roekeloos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hamdi Abdul Qadir in the 94th minute. Club Brugge's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
