After 10 minutes, Gill Franckx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Oosthoven and the FC Kuurne players grew even worse after the yellow card. 17 minutes into the match, KFC Oosthoven's Josef Sellekaers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claude Degraef narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anthoon Vandamme to make the kick off. Claude Degraef made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignace Seveneijns in the 64th minute of play. The KFC Oosthoven fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when KFC Oosthoven's Ignace Seveneijns looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Claude Degraef stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josef Sellekaers's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claude Degraef prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josef Sellekaers in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claude Degraef saved FC Kuurne from getting behind. Michael Gobelijns kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89thth minute of the game Josef Sellekaers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Kuurne's Claude Degraef was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claude Degraef showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignace Seveneijns in the 92nd minute of the match. After 93 played minutes FC Kuurne got a freekick which was hit by Geoffrey Depauw. In the 95th minute, Josef Sellekaers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Oosthoven fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. There was no doubt that KFC Oosthoven were the better team. KFC Oosthoven's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
