After some careless play in the FC Kuurne defense, Felix Van Meenen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claude Degraef. The FC Kuurne fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claude Degraef should have stopped the shot. Claude Degraef made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richmond Van Malcot in the 47th minute of play. After the first half KRC Bambrugge were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pieter De Raeijmaeker made a kick off. Michael Gobelijns walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Felix Van Meenen got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Claude Degraef handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 65th minute of the match, Richmond Van Malcot got a very nice opportunity to score, but Claude Degraef was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. FC Kuurne's Claude Degraef played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Van Meenen in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, KRC Bambrugge's Mathias Saelens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claude Degraef made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 80 minutes into the match, FC Kuurne's goalkeeper Claude Degraef had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richmond Van Malcot. When Felix Van Meenen, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 81 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Claude Degraef was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Richmond Van Malcot in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Claude Degraef, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Felix Van Meenen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Claude Degraef tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 86 minutes, Felix Van Meenen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KRC Bambrugge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Van Meenen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anthoon Vandamme's late challenge caught a KRC Bambrugge's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthoon Vandamme helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Anthoon Vandamme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KRC Bambrugge's Richmond Van Malcot was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 90th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Pieter De Raeijmaeker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Willy Poets having to make a save. Pieter De Raeijmaeker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Poets having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KRC Bambrugge walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
