Sven Verhasselt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Wayne De Wilde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Ontañon, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Sven Verhasselt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Wayne De Wilde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wayne De Wilde didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 26th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven Verhasselt got free with Wayne De Wilde in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute, Horacio Ontañon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wayne De Wilde. The goal made the score 4-0. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven Verhasselt was the one to do the kick off. Roel Eggermont made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Ignace Seveneijns sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gill Franckx during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, KFC Oosthoven's Gill Franckx got a free kick in the 55th minute. Roel Eggermont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josef Sellekaers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Horacio Ontañon notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of KFC Oosthoven's Wayne De Wilde. Wayne De Wilde was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Ignace Seveneijns got free in front of the goal in the 69th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Roel Eggermont was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Michael Van Leemputt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Horacio Ontañon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wayne De Wilde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Billie Bellinkx got free with Roel Eggermont in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. KFC Oosthoven's Wayne De Wilde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Verhasselt in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The KB Les Mauves FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while KFC Oosthoven had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
