In the 20thth minute of the game Sven Verhasselt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Matoekoes's Wart Keldermans was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was a well-played corner which Sven Verhasselt managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The crowd rose to their feet as De Matoekoes's Corneel Aelemans slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roel Eggermont. That made the score 1-1 after 24 minutes of play. 26 minutes into the match, KB Les Mauves FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jannick Valckeneers came free, but Roel Eggermont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roel Eggermont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jannick Valckeneers, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to KB Les Mauves FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Mattijs Steurms hit a great ball. Corneel Aelemans struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Roel Eggermont didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Matoekoes. Wart Keldermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Ontañon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, De Matoekoes's Brend Clijsters ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roel Eggermont. Roel Eggermont yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Frank Vandenberge kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With a little luck, KB Les Mauves FC's Roel Eggermont got control of the ball when Brend Clijsters tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute Horacio Ontañon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wart Keldermans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes of play, KB Les Mauves FC's Horacio Ontañon made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wart Keldermans was left in no man's land by his defense there! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Corneel Aelemans was the one to do the kick off.
