De Matoekoes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Warnetosn the free kick. The supporters of KFC Warnetosn booed when De Matoekoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wout Vissenaeckens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jannick Valckeneers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the game, De Matoekoes's Corneel Aelemans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rocky De Putter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When De Matoekoes's Corneel Aelemans in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KFC Warnetosn's goalie prevented a goal. Wart Keldermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richey Wuijts in the 16th minute of play. Rocky De Putter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brend Clijsters went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richey Wuijts in the 22nd minute of play forced De Matoekoes's goalkeeper Wart Keldermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timothy Van Poucke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Wart Keldermans made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Warnetosn's zone, Corneel Aelemans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rocky De Putter came out of the goal and Corneel Aelemans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Corneel Aelemans sped through KFC Warnetosn's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rocky De Putter. Rocky De Putter came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by De Matoekoes's Corneel Aelemans. But to his dismay, Corneel Aelemans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. KFC Warnetosn's Timothy Van Poucke got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Timothy Van Poucke could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Wart Keldermans however easily saved by the left post. 47 minutes into the match, De Matoekoes's goalkeeper Wart Keldermans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timothy Van Poucke. The KFC Warnetosn players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. De Matoekoes were winning 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richey Wuijts was the one to do the kick off. Bobby De Roeck kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Timothy Van Poucke in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wart Keldermans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Remie De Wulf was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes had been played. In the 60th match minute, KFC Warnetosn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remie De Wulf to maneuver through the defense. Corneel Aelemans came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rocky De Putter could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Timothy Van Poucke in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wart Keldermans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bastian Luijten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Wart Keldermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KFC Warnetosn were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after De Matoekoes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Christopher Bal took the corner. The corner led KFC Warnetosn's Christopher Bal to fire away a dangerous shot which Wart Keldermans despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Corneel Aelemans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Rocky De Putter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Corneel Aelemans came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the De Matoekoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corneel Aelemans couldn't finish the play. Wart Keldermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timothy Van Poucke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timothy Van Poucke in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wart Keldermans saved De Matoekoes from getting behind. Wart Keldermans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timothy Van Poucke's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Timothy Van Poucke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wart Keldermans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. The De Matoekoes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing De Matoekoes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
