After a defensive mix-up in Rani Boys's zone, Hamdi Abdul Qadir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester came out of the goal and Hamdi Abdul Qadir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfie Boulton scored 0-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Alfie Boulton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Brugge's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfie Boulton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th minute Remie Van Gestelt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Birger Vleminx's late challenge caught a Rani Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Birger Vleminx helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Club Brugge got a freekick which was hit by Birger Vleminx. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester stood somewhat misplaced when Hamdi Abdul Qadir came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 97 minute. The Club Brugge supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Brugge would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
