Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Benne Arnoets took the kick off in the first half of the match. The Rani Boys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Rani Boys's zone, Benne Arnoets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester came out of the goal and Benne Arnoets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Rani Boys's Dean Baeten got a free kick in the 10th minute. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bill Rutgeerts went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When Diedrik Reiniers came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Rani Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diedrik Reiniers couldn't finish the play. Benne Arnoets did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester 18 minutes into the match. After 20 played minutes De Matoekoes got a freekick which was hit by Wout Vissenaeckens. In the 22nd minute Diedrik Reiniers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas Versluys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, De Matoekoes's goal looked a bit too open when Aksel Hope came free, but Nicolaas Versluys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Bill Rutgeerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Benne Arnoets cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frank Vandenberge charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Vandenberge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rani Boys booed when De Matoekoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Vandenberge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rani Boys were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after De Matoekoes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aksel Hope took the corner. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bill Rutgeerts showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 35 minute of play. Nicolaas Versluys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diedrik Reiniers, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute Aksel Hope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas Versluys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benne Arnoets in the 42nd minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aksel Hope to make the kick off. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benne Arnoets in the 78th minute of play. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benne Arnoets in the 80th minute of the match. The supporters of Rani Boys booed when De Matoekoes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeffery Dockx didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Aksel Hope came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Rani Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aksel Hope couldn't finish the play. De Matoekoes's Nicolaas Versluys proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save De Matoekoes from getting a goal against them. Diedrik Reiniers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Nicolaas Versluys made a huge save. After 94 minutes of play, De Matoekoes's Bill Rutgeerts made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pieter-Maarten Demeulemeester was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Rani Boys players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for De Matoekoes.
