The audience thought a goal was coming when Robben Kints got free with Ciro Lira in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nico Van Meerbek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Odin in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Decathlon Anderlecht's goalkeeper Ciro Lira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Reijniers. After some careless play in the Decathlon Anderlecht defense, Robben Kints kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciro Lira. The Decathlon Anderlecht fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciro Lira should have stopped the shot. Brakkies New Bastards's Nico Van Meerbek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giles Winnepenninck in the 24th minute of play. In the 59th minute Giles Winnepenninck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nico Van Meerbek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Brakkies New Bastards's goal looked a bit too open when Giles Winnepenninck came free, but Nico Van Meerbek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciro Lira came out of the goal and Kirk Powderham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brakkies New Bastards's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
