In the 7th minute Cristian Vieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Dawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Generoso Urbina hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Nieuwpoort Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Stoica came free, but Kevin Dawson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabríel Vassaras took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kevin Dawson. Kevin Dawson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 13 minutes into the match, Nieuwpoort Club's goal looked a bit too open when Gabríel Vassaras came free, but Kevin Dawson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Dawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Stoica, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Orville Darling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henri-Patrick De Mare having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nieuwpoort Club's zone, Gabríel Vassaras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Dawson came out of the goal and Gabríel Vassaras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ştefan Stoica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 27 minutes into the match, Vc Brye's Ştefan Stoica sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevin Dawson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kevin Dawson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Vieri's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute Vc Brye were awarded a corner. Comunardo Cianci went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 31st minute Ştefan Stoica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Dawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nieuwpoort Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Comunardo Cianci was slow to take the kick. During this time Vc Brye's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Vc Brye's Comunardo Cianci to fire away a dangerous shot which Kevin Dawson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Kevin Dawson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Vieri in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match Vc Brye got a corner. Nieuwpoort Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Comunardo Cianci ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kevin Dawson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabríel Vassaras, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 43 played minutes Nieuwpoort Club got a freekick which was hit by Hector Steckens. In the 44th minute Gabríel Vassaras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Dawson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Nieuwpoort Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Urbina to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Gabríel Vassaras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kevin Dawson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orville Darling was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Nieuwpoort Club got a freekick which was hit by Hector Steckens. Nieuwpoort Club's Kevin Dawson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Nieuwpoort Club from getting a goal against them. Kevin Dawson was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Stefan Ciemiega capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stefan Ciemiega really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. In the 58th match minute, Nieuwpoort Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zelipe Sauca to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute, Hector Steckens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabríel Vassaras kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kevin Dawson. That made the score 0-8 in the 63 minute of play. A collision led to Nieuwpoort Club getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Hector Steckens hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Cristian Vieri took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Kevin Dawson to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Nieuwpoort Club's Charlie de Nooter got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Vc Brye's Fox 鲁迅 was substituted for Cristian Vieri. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Gabríel Vassaras put it in 0-10 from a short distance just to the right of Kevin Dawson. Vc Brye were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Nieuwpoort Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Comunardo Cianci took the corner. Ştefan Stoica received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kevin Dawson came out and tried to block the shot, but Ştefan Stoica slotted it home off the left post making it 0-11 in the 84th minute. Kevin Dawson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Ciemiega in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Ştefan Stoica cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-12. Kevin Dawson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute, Fox 鲁迅 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, Gabríel Vassaras made a precise shot to the right of Kevin Dawson. Nieuwpoort Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-13.
