Yannik Meersmans started the match with the kick off. Isaac Vito's late challenge caught a Barça's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaac Vito helped the player get up and apologised. Isaac Vito kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. With his leg Jorg Koten managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when VC Merchtem's Silvio Estebe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Barça's Jorg Koten got control of the ball when Silvio Estebe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Silvio Estebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorg Koten having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Barça's zone, Isaac Vito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorg Koten came out of the goal and Isaac Vito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lander Waegemans charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lander Waegemans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of VC Merchtem booed when Barça was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lander Waegemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, VC Merchtem's Silvio Estebe ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorg Koten. Jorg Koten yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Rajmond Van den Brul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of VC Merchtem booed when Barça was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfried Van Castel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernt Wils charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernt Wils the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, VC Merchtem's Ignace Stroobans got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silvio Estebe to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Silvio Estebe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VC Merchtem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Estebe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorg Koten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvio Estebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The VC Merchtem fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when VC Merchtem's Silvio Estebe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Silvio Estebe might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorg Koten. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvio Estebe ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Vito in the 57th minute of play forced Barça's goalkeeper Jorg Koten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernt Wils hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Isaac Vito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VC Merchtem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Jorg Koten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Vito, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 74th minute, Bernt Wils hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. VC Merchtem's Filiph Klemensson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save VC Merchtem from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the game, VC Merchtem's Isaac Vito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorg Koten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. When VC Merchtem's Isaac Vito in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barça's goalie prevented a goal. Jorg Koten stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvio Estebe's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, VC Merchtem's Isaac Vito sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorg Koten narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 92 played minutes VC Merchtem got a freekick which was hit by Ignace Stroobans.
