Young Ostend United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Loid Gijsbrechts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Goran Gardakov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute MeldertFC were awarded a corner. Wes Van der Hoeven went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Goran Gardakov almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Young Ostend United's Loid Gijsbrechts did a great save. Marcus Roggen charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Roggen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15thth minute of the game Raymond Rutgeerts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MeldertFC's Eddie Simonsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 played minutes Young Ostend United got a freekick which was hit by Aime Van Beylen. Loid Gijsbrechts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phillipe Gelens, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Loid Gijsbrechts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Harlén in the 20th minute of the match. Loid Gijsbrechts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Sayvion, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Phillipe Gelens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eddie Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Van Hoeyvelt in the 29th minute of play. Loid Gijsbrechts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Young Ostend United's Loid Gijsbrechts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Harlén in the 32nd minute of play. Loid Gijsbrechts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillipe Gelens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goran Gardakov took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Loid Gijsbrechts. Loid Gijsbrechts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, Young Ostend United's Raymond Rutgeerts got a free kick in the 37th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kent Harlén in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loid Gijsbrechts saved Young Ostend United from getting behind. Stefan Raeymakers scored 0-5 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Loid Gijsbrechts, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Raeymakers in the 43rd minute of play forced Young Ostend United's goalkeeper Loid Gijsbrechts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Teofilo Sayvion in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Young Ostend United's Pino Coryn. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raymond Rutgeerts to make the kick off. In the 50th minute the ball was on its way in behind Young Ostend United's goalkeeper Loid Gijsbrechts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 60 minutes into the game, Pino Coryn threw the ball into play from the sideline. MeldertFC's Anselmo Rius quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Loid Gijsbrechts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillipe Gelens in the 67th minute of the match. With 69 minutes on the clock, Vacib Kani commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of MeldertFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Young Ostend United:s goal. Eddie Simonsson had in the 71stth minute some difficulties stopping Marcus Roggen's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 76th minute of the match, Goran Gardakov got a very nice opportunity to score, but Loid Gijsbrechts was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Eddie Simonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raymond Rutgeerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kent Harlén's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Loid Gijsbrechts skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 88 minutes into the match, Kent Harlén had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Loid Gijsbrechts. After 96 minutes of play, MeldertFC's Kent Harlén made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Loid Gijsbrechts was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Young Ostend United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. MeldertFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
