The corner led Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Murray Hägert to fire away a dangerous shot which Connor Osmond despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of SK Mons booed when Royal Antwerp F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geert-Jan Omblet didn't get a good kick on the ball. SK Mons's Connor Osmond proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save SK Mons from getting a goal against them. In the 46th match minute, SK Mons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luka Van Aken to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Murray Hägert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Murray Hägert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Murray Hägert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Connor Osmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murray Hägert in the 52nd minute of the match. Luka Van Aken hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Vloebergh came free, but Connor Osmond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SK Mons's Connor Osmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Vloebergh in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Trevor Eubank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinard Van Ghele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Luka Van Aken managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Mons's supporters rose to their feet, but Luka Van Aken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinard Van Ghele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Vloebergh came free, but Connor Osmond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Billy Vloebergh in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Connor Osmond saved SK Mons from getting behind. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s attentive Jerry Preuveneer managed to snatch the ball when Chen Hai Zhi made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. After 91 played minutes Royal Antwerp F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Miljeteig. Connor Osmond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Vloebergh in the 93rd minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Royal Antwerp F.C. fully deserved thier win.
