Niek Molhoek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chus Avilés in the 12th minute of the match. Serge Tijs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiel Spoelberghe struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Niek Molhoek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for R.C.A. R.C.A's Godfredo Menendez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdinand Fabry in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, R.C.A's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinand Fabry came free, but Godfredo Menendez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a defensive mix-up in R.C.A's zone, Jeroen Maenhout stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godfredo Menendez came out of the goal and Jeroen Maenhout tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Schelde's goalkeeper Niek Molhoek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match R.C.A got a corner. Avelgem ad. Schelde's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geert Van den Plas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Benicio Frisco advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-1 in the 72nd minute. In the 76th minute Ferdinand Fabry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfredo Menendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godfredo Menendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeroen Maenhout, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Schelde succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though R.C.A had controlled the match.
