The audience was convinced that Brend Steenbeeck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kent Gressens was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Sapitos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. 47 minutes into the game, Jason Baeten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC TurQu AsTaLyA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sapitos the free kick. The supporters of Sapitos booed when FC TurQu AsTaLyA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jason Baeten didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Sapitos. The FC TurQu AsTaLyA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC TurQu AsTaLyA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
