The KFC Welden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gillis Degens should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Robertinho Carabajal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gillis Degens was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by KFC Welden's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tang Di Nan was slow to take the kick. During this time AFC Koolkerke's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of KFC Welden's goalie and right to Joseph Smits. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. KFC Welden's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Gillis Degens came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Koolkerke's Robertinho Carabajal. But to his dismay, Robertinho Carabajal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Robertinho Carabajal succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 26th playminute. 29 minutes into the match, AFC Koolkerke's goal looked a bit too open when Wouter Gijselinckx came free, but Ulises Steven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KFC Welden's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Robertinho Carabajal scored to the left of an out of position Gillis Degens, making the score, 4-0. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Wouter Gijselinckx sped through AFC Koolkerke's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ulises Steven. Ulises Steven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wouter Gijselinckx in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Robertinho Carabajal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Welden's Gillis Degens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wouter Gijselinckx was the one to do the kick off. Ulises Steven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Van Eyken in the 51st minute of play. Alex Koit hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kristen Spoelberghe got free with Ulises Steven in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulises Steven made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Kristen Spoelberghe sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, Kristen Spoelberghe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ulises Steven, 4-2. 93 minutes into the match, KFC Welden's goal looked a bit too open when Daevy Blaine came free, but Gillis Degens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KFC Welden's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
