In the 3rd minute Mersad Džebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kadir Nazirović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lokman Čardaklija who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Veiz Pandurević when he managed to save the team from getting behind. San Lorenzo's Vitomir Petranović managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vedran Momčilo in the 33 minute of the game. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Vitomir Petranović hit a great ball. Veiz Pandurević stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinando Rinaldi's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Mersad Džebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mersad Džebo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Kadir Nazirović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nazmija Arsenović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the game, Edib Vugdalič was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Lorenzo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mirlovici the free kick. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Edib Vugdalič hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Kadir Nazirović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hodža Abdihodžić in the 94th minute of play.
