A collision led to Sarajevo fc getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Redžep Matko hit a great ball. Ulfet Mikelini was a little too slow when Lale Rahmanović got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Redžep Matko during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Sarajevo fc got a freekick which was hit by Redžep Matko. After a rather tough play, Sarajevo fc's Staniša Šuto got a free kick in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Edahović in the 20th minute of play forced Sarajevo fc's goalkeeper Velibor Temelj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sarajevo fc's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dragutin Munizović was slow to take the kick. During this time FK Gardijan's players had a chance to rest. Jahija Zolj recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jahija Zolj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamza Nesibović during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FK Gardijan booed when Sarajevo fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamza Nesibović didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Bruno Edahović left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FK Gardijan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jahija Zolj scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Velibor Temelj, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zarif Kuduzović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruno Edahović to strike the kick off in the second half. FK Gardijan's Jahija Zolj got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Jahija Zolj had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Velibor Temelj. Sarajevo fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jahija Zolj was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 59thth minute of the game Bruno Edahović who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sarajevo fc's Velibor Temelj was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of FK Gardijan booed when Sarajevo fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Redžep Matko didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jahija Zolj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Branko Smajlić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulfet Mikelini having to interfere. Jahija Zolj received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Velibor Temelj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 minutes, Isa Nazirović mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarajevo fc and the FK Gardijan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Bruno Edahović kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Velibor Temelj. That made the score 1-4 in the 79 minute of play. In the 86th minute Lale Rahmanović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulfet Mikelini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sarajevo fc's Velibor Temelj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Edahović in the 91st minute of play. If Lale Rahmanović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FK Gardijan had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
