NK Željezničar's Jefto Nakibović proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save NK Željezničar from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, NK Željezničar's Jefto Nakibović got control of the ball when Zvonko Domitrović tried to sneak it across the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, N.K. Celik's Vezir Prica sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jefto Nakibović narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Mijo Hadžiomrevoić's late challenge caught a NK Željezničar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mijo Hadžiomrevoić helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of NK Željezničar booed when N.K. Celik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mijo Hadžiomrevoić didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind N.K. Celik's goalkeeper Arfan Halilović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 76 minutes, Mirsad Mujkanović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NK Željezničar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mirsad Mujkanović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Mirsad Mujkanović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arfan Halilović made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mirsad Mujkanović in the 82nd minute. When Ado Gagula came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the NK Željezničar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ado Gagula couldn't finish the play. Jefto Nakibović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vezir Prica in the 88th minute of play. After some careless play in the NK Željezničar defense, Zvonko Domitrović kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jefto Nakibović. The NK Željezničar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jefto Nakibović should have stopped the shot. N.K. Celik's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
