Steaua Bucuresti's Sebastian Fey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roland Ballik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 48th minute Christopher Moratschke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Ballik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexander Jucknischke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tim Rehm was shown his second yellow card after 70 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of FC United Socks booed when F.C. Steaua Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Rehm didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Alexander Jucknischke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC United Socks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Steaua Bucuresti the free kick. In the 72nd match minute, FC United Socks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Jucknischke to maneuver through the defense.
