Martin Schaf might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabio Mandl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martin Schaf ran back to his position shaking his head. Meikel Neustadt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Schachner in the 37th minute of the match. Martin Schaf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Mandl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Jochen Gräber recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Meikel Neustadt. Jochen Gräber showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Meikel Neustadt made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Klaus Parkoz sent off a good shot on target. Gerrit Vossig kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Schaf stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Shelby1 booed when Feyenoord Rotterdam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konrad Aufhauser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meikel Neustadt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochen Gräber in the 57th minute of play. Kay Morek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Mandl having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Feyenoord Rotterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Schachner came free, but Meikel Neustadt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute Robin Ibertsberger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Meikel Neustadt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Schachner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
