After 3 minutes, Dirk Reinhard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Besiktas JK and the FC Birnbaum players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Besiktas JK's Dirk Reinhard got a free kick in the 4th minute. The supporters of Besiktas JK booed when FC Birnbaum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Hassenrück didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Osterhagen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Felix Kopinski having to interfere. Benjamin Osterhagen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jan-Felix Kopinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefan Pezel struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Jan-Felix Kopinski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Besiktas JK. Thanks to some nice moves Marco Zimmermann could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Nico Heesen however easily saved by the left post. When Philipp Hassenrück came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the FC Birnbaum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philipp Hassenrück couldn't finish the play. After 30 minutes FC Birnbaum's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Achim Schicklgruber who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Stefan Pezel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Besiktas JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Pezel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Felix Kopinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan-Felix Kopinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Osterhagen, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Marco Zimmermann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sven Barten hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Sven Olbrich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, FC Birnbaum's Florian Arndt tried to score from far away in the 49th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Philipp Hassenrück was the one to do the kick off. Marco Zimmermann took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nico Heesen. Nico Heesen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. FC Birnbaum's Jan-Felix Kopinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Olbrich in the 60th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Besiktas JK's Achim Schicklgruber got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Marco Zimmermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Zimmermann in the 67th minute of play forced Besiktas JK's goalkeeper Nico Heesen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Besiktas JK's Nico Heesen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philipp Hassenrück in the 70th minute of play. Nico Heesen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Zimmermann's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Zimmermann in the 75th minute of play forced Besiktas JK's goalkeeper Nico Heesen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nico Heesen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Zimmermann in the 76th minute of the match. If Philipp Hassenrück had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bastian Wintergerst charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bastian Wintergerst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Birnbaum getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Bastian Wintergerst hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Besiktas JK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Birnbaum.
