The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Markus Heibrink's late challenge caught a Wienerberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jörg Pasch charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jörg Pasch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Wienerberg's Jörg Pasch got a free kick in the 10th minute. The audience cheered when Tino Röber's long shot passed Simon Seisler's right side. It was 0-1, 11 minutes into the match. 14 minutes in the game, Leonard Bachmeier fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Simon Brandl having to interfere. In the 19th minute Leonard Bachmeier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Brandl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ralf Durr fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ulan Bator's protests and gave Ralf Durr a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes FC Ulan Bator got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Durr. 23 minutes into the match, Wienerberg's goal looked a bit too open when Hans-Peter Baston came free, but Simon Seisler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Wienerberg's zone, Wolfgang-Bernd Unterberger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Seisler came out of the goal and Wolfgang-Bernd Unterberger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Simon Seisler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans-Peter Baston in the 35th minute of play. Wienerberg's Simon Seisler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans-Peter Baston in the 36th minute of play. Nils Wieberneit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Brandl having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Bachmeier in the 44th minute of play forced FC Ulan Bator's goalkeeper Simon Brandl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hans-Peter Baston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Seisler having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wolfgang-Bernd Unterberger made a kick off. Simon Brandl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Bachmeier in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Wienerberg getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ingo Matzken hit a great ball. In the 65th match minute, FC Ulan Bator was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralf Durr to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils Wieberneit in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simon Brandl saved FC Ulan Bator from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, FC Ulan Bator's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Bachmeier came free, but Simon Brandl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simon Brandl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Bachmeier, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After some careless play in the Wienerberg defense, Hans-Peter Baston kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simon Seisler. The Wienerberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simon Seisler should have stopped the shot. After 82 minutes, Otto Seiderer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ulan Bator and the Wienerberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. 81 minutes into the game, one of FC Ulan Bator:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Simon Brandl had in the 83rdth minute some difficulties stopping Ingo Matzken's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 83rd minute, Ingo Matzken ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Brandl was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After having played for 92 minutes, Nils Wieberneit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wienerberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils Wieberneit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans-Peter Baston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Simon Seisler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wolfgang-Bernd Unterberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 100th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wienerberg's goalkeeper Simon Seisler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The FC Ulan Bator supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Ulan Bator would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
