Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Julien Silz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joachim Henning. FC Glan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julien Silz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 14th minute, Patric Leßing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Austria Linz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ralf-Joachim Gütermann 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Ralf-Joachim Gütermann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans-Georg Peintner was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Austria Linz's zone, Ralf-Joachim Gütermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans-Georg Peintner came out of the goal and Ralf-Joachim Gütermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wolfram Dresdner in the 34th minute of play forced FC Glan's goalkeeper Joachim Henning to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ralf-Joachim Gütermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ralf-Joachim Gütermann made a kick off. In the 57th minute Wolfram Dresdner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Henning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patric Leßing in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans-Georg Peintner saved Austria Linz from getting behind. In the 60th match minute, Austria Linz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rouven Barnick to maneuver through the defense. FC Glan's Patric Leßing got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 69 minutes, Patric Leßing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Glan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patric Leßing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stefan Schoppe kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When FC Glan's Ralf-Joachim Gütermann, in the 84th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Glan. Ralf-Joachim Gütermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hans-Georg Peintner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hans-Georg Peintner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf-Joachim Gütermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Austria Linz were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over FC Glan's much stronger midfield.
