Helmut Hinz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Naruto san. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Florian Blassen got a free kick in the 11th minute. Nils Burkart kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Helmut Hinz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Patric Schuber. Helmut Hinz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Eberts in the 20th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Florian Eberts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Naruto san was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Hasselberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Naruto san's Florian Eberts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Helmut Hinz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Florian Eberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Ruben Pöck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Phillip Scharf. Naruto san's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruben Pöck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Ruben Pöck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florian Eberts to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Naruto san got a freekick which was hit by Patric Schuber. Patric Schuber kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's Florian Blassen broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Phillip Scharf made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Rainer Ramelow sent off a good shot on target. Tom Pircher blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Helmut Hinz having to make a save. Phillip Scharf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Pöck in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Tom Pircher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmut Hinz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 played minutes Naruto san got a freekick which was hit by Uli Wank. After 85 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Florian Blassen. After recieving a nice pass, Naruto san's Patric Schuber tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Phillip Scharf made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Rainer Ramelow sent off a good shot on target. Axel Hasselberg hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Ruben Pöck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borussia Dortmund's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
