In the 3rd minute Christian Dammers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niclas Rohde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute, Tom Klich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stephan Grünewald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luca Wagner having to interfere. Tony Moldenhauer's late challenge caught a Neder's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Moldenhauer helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Austria Salzburg getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Tony Moldenhauer hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Austria Salzburg's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Dammers came free, but Niclas Rohde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Tony Moldenhauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Christian Dammers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Niclas Rohde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Dammers in the 22nd minute of play. Niclas Rohde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brandon Lojewski in the 24th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Neder's Christian Dammers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niclas Rohde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brandon Lojewski in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niclas Rohde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Austria Salzburg's Sebastian Eberhard got a free kick in the 41st minute. Christian Dammers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brandon Lojewski in the 46th minute of play forced Austria Salzburg's goalkeeper Niclas Rohde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 49 minutes into the match, Neder's Christian Dammers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niclas Rohde narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

If Christian Dammers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stephan Grünewald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Luca Wagner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Austria Salzburg booed when Neder was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Grabner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Björn Petak, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some careless play in the Neder defense, Stephan Grünewald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luca Wagner. The Neder fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luca Wagner should have stopped the shot. Brandon Lojewski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niclas Rohde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After 72 played minutes Austria Salzburg got a freekick which was hit by Jochen Ansorge. With a little luck, Austria Salzburg's Niclas Rohde got control of the ball when Brandon Lojewski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tony Moldenhauer hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Niclas Rohde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Dammers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brandon Lojewski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Niclas Rohde having to make a save. When Dominik Schachner fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Austria Salzburg's protests and gave Dominik Schachner a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Austria Salzburg fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Brandon Lojewski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Niclas Rohde firmly grabbed it by the left post. Luca Wagner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Grünewald in the 92nd minute of play. Christopher Wild hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Brandon Lojewski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Niclas Rohde. Austria Salzburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brandon Lojewski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
