After 17 minutes, Ralf Sylvester mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Grimmenstein and the Neder players grew even worse after the yellow card. Neder's supporters rose to their feet, but Brandon Lojewski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jörg Vanek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The Neder fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Edewecht got free with Luca Wagner in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jörg Vanek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Dammers, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, SC Grimmenstein's Florian Schlüter got a free kick in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Neder's Brandon Lojewski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jörg Vanek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 95 minutes into the match, Christian Dammers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jörg Vanek. SC Grimmenstein's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Dammers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Neder's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
