Josef Franken, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Karl Pichlmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Peintner, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Wolfram Eymann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jakob Fiedeler's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Patrick Eisenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jakob Fiedeler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wolfram Eymann having to interfere. In the 44th minute Felix Peintner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Pichlmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a rather tough play, Lahen FSV's Marc Böttcher got a free kick in the 51st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jakob Fiedeler in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wolfram Eymann saved Lahen FSV from getting behind. If Jakob Fiedeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. AO11's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lahen FSV the free kick. When Urs Insel fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lahen FSV's protests and gave Urs Insel a yellow card for diving instead. Urs Insel hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute Jakob Fiedeler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wolfram Eymann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christopher Kerrutt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AO11 played a much better game than Lahen FSV and deserved their victory. The Lahen FSV players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
