The referee ignored FC Petrolul Innsbruck's protests and gave Thomas Woltering a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Petrolul Innsbruck getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Thomas Woltering hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Rauchenberg FC's Ingo Drescher got a free kick in the 18th minute. Robin Spreitzer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörg Hayungs in the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Rauchenberg FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tobi Ochs hit a great ball. Klaus Oelke in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lukas Ohrem, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Per-Otto Grytz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Klaus Oelke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jan-Hauke Laufenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Otto Grytz in the 38th minute of play forced FC Petrolul Innsbruck's goalkeeper Lukas Ohrem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jörg Hayungs was the one to do the kick off.
