Max Kölzig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederic Munderloh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hugo Schachner's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. FC Barcelona's Roman Straub proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save FC Barcelona from getting a goal against them. Yannick Defeu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederic Munderloh having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Sparbaregg's goal looked a bit too open when Yannick Defeu came free, but Frederic Munderloh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frederic Munderloh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yannick Defeu in the 19th minute of play. Mirko Ahrendt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Straub having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sparbaregg defense, Hugo Schachner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frederic Munderloh. The Sparbaregg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frederic Munderloh should have stopped the shot. Frederic Munderloh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yannick Defeu's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Schachner in the 32nd minute of play forced Sparbaregg's goalkeeper Frederic Munderloh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Hermanseder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Roman Straub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirko Ahrendt in the 39th minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Roman Straub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frederic Munderloh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Schachner, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half FC Barcelona were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Yannick Defeu made the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Peer Schöttel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 played minutes, FC Barcelona's Maurice Hoff shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frederic Munderloh came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Barcelona reached it. 66 minutes into the match, Peter Hermanseder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roman Straub. FC Barcelona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Hermanseder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 71st minute, Yannick Defeu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Hermanseder took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roman Straub. Roman Straub dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Sparbaregg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
