Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Michael-Peter Klebsch took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Niclas Laudan in the 8th minute of play forced Lions's goalkeeper Leo-Jan Müller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Roman Bovenschen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lions's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Bovenschen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ansgar Gabler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 minutes of play, Lions's Roman Bovenschen made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ansgar Gabler was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Ralf-Joachim Heinicke came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Lions fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ralf-Joachim Heinicke couldn't finish the play. Achim Peterknecht hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Jan-Niclas Laudan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute Roman Bovenschen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ansgar Gabler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Ralf-Joachim Heinicke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ralf-Joachim Heinicke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SV Gallneukirchen's Ansgar Gabler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Bovenschen in the 35th minute of play. Ansgar Gabler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Bovenschen in the 40th minute of the match. Roman Bovenschen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ansgar Gabler having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roman Bovenschen to make the kick off. Lions's Roman Bovenschen got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SV Gallneukirchen's Ansgar Gabler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achim Peterknecht in the 56th minute of play. When Lions's Roman Bovenschen in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SV Gallneukirchen's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Roman Bovenschen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ansgar Gabler was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Roman Bovenschen scored 7-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ansgar Gabler, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ansgar Gabler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Bovenschen in the 75th minute of play. After 77 played minutes SV Gallneukirchen got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Ballik. The referee felt a red card was in order, 79 minutes into the game, when Nico-Paul Schultz put in a rough tackle. Roman Bovenschen took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ansgar Gabler. Ansgar Gabler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Ansgar Gabler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Quednau, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Lions's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Doll in the 88th minute. A nice corner shot did that Jan Doll got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ansgar Gabler quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Robert Quednau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leo-Jan Müller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael-Peter Klebsch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Lions players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
