Ralf-Joachim Heinicke took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Philipp Lechtenberg. Philipp Lechtenberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some careless play in the Kellergasse defense, Roman Bovenschen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Philipp Lechtenberg. The Kellergasse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Philipp Lechtenberg should have stopped the shot. After 16 played minutes Lions got a freekick which was hit by Marco Platt. Karl Göhring took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leo-Jan Müller. Lions's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lions's Volkmar Becker got a free kick in the 18th minute. If Roman Bovenschen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Roman Bovenschen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Philipp Lechtenberg was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Benjamin Redder kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 36th play minutes Roman Bovenschen shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Philipp Lechtenberg and just under the crossbar into goal. Philipp Lechtenberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roman Bovenschen's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Kellergasse's Philipp Lechtenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Bovenschen in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute Roman Bovenschen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philipp Lechtenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Lions's Roman Bovenschen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philipp Lechtenberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ralf-Joachim Heinicke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Kellergasse's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Bovenschen came free, but Philipp Lechtenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Philipp Lechtenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Bovenschen in the 71st minute of play. If Achim Peterknecht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 83 minutes, Rainer Rösen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kellergasse and the Lions players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rainer Rösen hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Kellergasse defense, Roman Bovenschen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Philipp Lechtenberg. The Kellergasse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Philipp Lechtenberg should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roman Bovenschen in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Philipp Lechtenberg saved Kellergasse from getting behind. In the 92nd minute Roman Bovenschen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philipp Lechtenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lions's Leo-Jan Müller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Lions from getting a goal against them. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lions had played much better football throughout.
